Jon Martyr | Senior Project Director, NewStudio Build

As a former Police Chief, Jon readily embraces leadership roles and operational processes. He’s also been a maker of things, for as long as he can remember, from improvements at his hobby farm to assisting on Habitat for Humanity homes. NewStudio Build brought his talents and skills together.

“Project management has been a big part of my past roles. It has a lot of similarities with my position here,” Jon says. “It’s all very familiar as a process.” He sees a difference from his previous work that he appreciates, too. “NewStudio has a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. There’s even an Office Dog. Law enforcement is more rigid.”

Jon’s focus is developing NewStudio Build, a separate but complementary NewStudio business unit. “We’re geared to do things the right way, including our first-rate workshop and a new Sprinter van for our construction equipment. Big things are on the horizon and I’m excited for NewStudio Build.”

What Most People Don’t Know About Me: I watch very little TV, but love video games—especially Bethesda titles and COD.

When I’m Not At NewStudio, I’m: Working on our acreage or enjoying the outdoors in some way, usually accompanied by our dogs

Most Cherished Item I Own: My 1967 Camaro RS/SS. I was seriously injured at work and during that time I acquired and began restoring the car with help from my father-in-law. Driving it is like entering a time machine and I love it.
