Sunny Reed | Director of Interior Design / Senior Associate
Sunny began working with NewStudio Architecture back in its formative days. “We didn’t even have an office yet,” Sunny recalls. She was instrumental in shaping the interior design ethos of the firm, emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach based on a cornerstone of sustainability. While working at the firm was rewarding, she knew that to grow as a design leader she needed to gain a broader perspective of both management and projects. This led her to award-winning firms in the Twin Cities and Miami.
“Working on projects both nationally and internationally between the Midwest and South Florida has provided me with a greater understanding of diverse clients and projects, influences and design drivers, and innovative design thinking,” she says. “And, I’ll admit: I really enjoyed living in a warmer climate.”
Now Sunny’s broadened career experience and vivacious enthusiasm are driving her vision for NewStudio’s interior design work. “I’m super excited and appreciative to be back with such an amazing firm, even if it’s in the coldest part of the country! Nowhere else but NewStudio has this fantastic opportunity to tap into a greater bandwidth of design talents and skills in a culture that supports each person to grow beyond their resumes. For me, it’s about so much more than architecture and interior design.”
A strong advocate for professional development, Sunny believes that people never stop learning. “There are always things to be curious about,” she adds, noting that she personally has a lot to learn about loving snowy winters again!
