MANITOU ISLAND BOATHOUSE [WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN]

A complete renovation of one of the last functional boathouses on White Bear Lake emphasizes the structure’s classic midcentury design and incorporates the owners’ passion for sailing in its many nautical details, including stainless steel cleats on the cabinetry and authentic sails repurposed as wall coverings and a shower curtain. Charcoal and cream, accented with aqua, orange, and yellow, as well as refurbished Frederick Weinberg bar stools and a Russell Woodard dining set reflect the midcentury aesthetic. After a day on the lake, the three-season screened pavilion cantilevered over the water is an inviting gathering place for friends and family once again.
