Junior Interior Designer
Hiring – March/April 2026- St. Paul, MN
NewStudio Architecture is actively seeking a creative, experienced, and ambitious interior designer with refined design aesthetics who is passionate about their work. This position is full-time. We are seeking an applicant who is self-motivated, organized, and professional.
If you thrive on learning, product research, building palettes, generating 3D ideas, storytelling, and working in collaboration with other designers, this is the job for you.

Curate material palettes, including specification research, and hands-on palette generation. This includes the occasional need to travel to showrooms
Use Adobe/Revit/Enscape to communicate ideas in 3D in renderings and construction documents
Assist in developing formal client presentations in both digital and physical formats
Have the ability to work in both a face-to-face and remote capacity, collaborating with teams
Draft detailed sketches, working plans, and drawings from sketches and existing drawings
Research code requirements and ensure design feasibility (ADA, fire, building codes, etc.)
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, provide quick feedback, and showcase a tenacity for digging into details!

Candidates should have:
A professional degree in interior design or interior architecture, CIDA-accredited preferred
3-6 years of postgraduate experience
Demonstrated interest in working in all stages of design
Strong design, technical, and graphic skills with demonstrated Revit/Rhino/Enscape/Adobe proficiencies
Intermediate Revit + BIM coordination skills
Experience producing an array of documents in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) / Adobe Suite
Experience in creating furniture specifications
Proficiency in construction document production and interior detailing + custom millwork design
Experience in ordering samples, including knowledge of manufacturers and finish materials
Demonstrated skills in producing and coordinating drawing sets
Experience in construction administration and submittal reviews
Must be a “team player” with superior organizational and communication skills
Strong curiosity for product specifications and product research
Experience with ADA, building, and fire code requirements
Additionally preferred:
Experience in commercial design, hospitality, and high-end residential (not required, but must have an interest in)
Experience using Design Manager
Experience in pricing furniture and accessories (at a minimum, a willingness to learn)

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Revit software; AutoCAD; Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; SketchUp; project management software (Design Manager) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
