Tony Lopez | Intern
Growing up in California’s Central Valley, Tony watched his father work outdoors as a general contractor. “I was freezing in the winter and hot in the summer—weather not as bad as Minnesota’s, for sure, but still…! I loved design even then. I also knew I’d prefer working in a climate-controlled situation,” he says with a smile.
After completing dual degrees in Architecture and Business in Burbank, Tony eventually made his way to NewStudio in Minnesota. “I fell in love with this state—yes, the winters, too,” he says. “I was thrilled to find NewStudio here; its good work immediately attracted my attention. I also appreciate its diversity of projects and diversity of people. I’m glad to be part of it all.”
If You Were A Castaway, What Item Do You Want With You?
My water bottle. It’s practical and functional. And the stickers on it remind me of my experiences, adventures, and accomplishments, too.”
Favorite Office Supply:
I love to be organized, so manila folders and sticky notes rank high.
People Don’t Know This About Me:
I love a view of white snow and blue sky.
When I’m Not At NewStudio, I’m:
Running. A few coworkers and I have weekly flapjack Friday runs!
Someday, I Would Like To:
Practice throwing clay more and design cups for hot cocoa in the winter.
