Working in NewStudio Architecture's Brooklyn office is a good thing, in my opinion. It's got a creative vibe, but the pace is more laid back than in New York City. There's always a hustle in the city. And I can bring Walter to work with me. He's my Italian greyhound named after Walter Gropius, one of the Bauhaus School Founders.
Before I came to NewStudio, my career involved working on a considerable number of residential mid- to high-rise buildings. One project in China, for example, included multiple buildings on one site. Complicated. Challenging. Fun. Instructive. I learned along the way that I value simplicity. And quality is essential.
That's why I'm excited about NewStudio (besides Walter working with me). I can narrow my focus on more intimate projects here and build relationships with clients. That's different than a lot of firms. Clients value our judgment and expertise. They trust the creativity. At NewStudio, we care about our work and it shows.
